Toordal : 250 gms
Onions : 3 nos medium chopped
Tomatoes : 5 nos medium chopped
Ginger garlic paste : 3tsp
Cumin seeds : 1 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds : 1tsp
Coconut oil : 2-3 tbsp
Coriander leaves : 3tbsp chopped
Chilly powder : as per your taste
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Salt : as per your taste
Asafetida : one pinch

Cook dhal in pressure cooker for 3 whistles. In deep kadai heat oil put in cumin seeds and mustard seeds till it crackles. then add chopped onions, fry till slight brown then add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, chilly powder, salt, asafetida, cook for some time ,then add the cooked dhal add water if needed, garnish with coriander leaves
